Shopping Spree

Shopping Spree!

I have one more shopping tip if you guys are looking to participate in reliable shopping sprees on US Sites and share shipping costs with others.

I’ve been doing this since i was in my 20s! That was how i acquired Forever 21, Abercrombie & Fitch, Victoria Secrets etc even before it stepped foot in sunny Singapore. I don’t know about other spree sites but i only trust this spree site and some of the spree organisers have been doing this for ages and i’ve never got cheated of my money in this community.

The spree site i’m talking about is Spreesgalore
I
will join the sprees if i have only one item to buy from that site and shipping that one item to me would cost more than the item itself.

Some of the popular sprees got to be Forever 21. They open sprees for Forever 21 almost every 2 or 3 days!

Gold Coast Day 2

Just realized i’ve not continued on my Gold Coast posts and because i’m fairly free, i shall start on the Gold Coast series now!

Right from the start, i knew Day 2 would turn out to be really awesome because it’s Movie World Day!
I don’t go to Theme Parks all the time but when i do, i forget that i’m 30. I think Theme Parks does that to you, eh?

Started the day quite early and was greeted with this view. I miss this still.

IVF Journey, Trying To Conceive

The Start Of The Wait

Saturday, 26 April 2014

The day of the Embryo Transfer. The procedure was scheduled for 8.30am but we had to report at the hospital at 7.00am. Was instructed to drink 500ml of water slowly from 7.00am to 8.00am and hold my bladder and only on that day i’ve realized how weak my bladder is. At 8.00am, i was brought into the day surgery centre. I was at the verge of peeing already. Had to wait for 15mins at the cold lobby area. Trust me, i was in all kinds of position just trying to hold my pee. At 8.15am, i couldn’t hold it any longer. Plead with the nurse to let me pee a little bit because it was really uncomfortable. The nurse making me laugh at their jokes, certainly not helping! One even came close to me and whispered “even if you accidentally peed at the doctor, do know you’re not the 1st one.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

IVF Journey, Trying To Conceive

Halfway Through

The previous IVF post was getting too long with updates. I’m halfway through IVF now so i reckon it’s time to do a new one and update from here instead.

Saturday, 19 April 2014

We are back from our hospital appointment! Had a bad blood test experience again. I blame it on my narrow veins though cos the nurses there are so nice, it’s hard to find fault with them. Hahaha
But really, the malay nurse is the one who always had to take my blood test and all this while she’s been doing it at my left arm. But taking blood test every two days at the left arms results in bruises and she was really reluctant to draw out any blood from my left arm again today. But she couldn’t find any veins on my right arm. She tried to draw blood my right hand instead. Which is really painful by the way. I’ll give you my juicy arms anytime but my hands are kinda off limits, now that i know how painful drawing blood from your hand is. So anyway, she attempted to draw blood from my right hand and halfway through the vein collapsed. It was so painful when she withdrew the nurse and for the first time, i cried while taking my blood test. So embarassing! Hahahaha

But the nurses were so nice. Told me to go ahead and see doctor, do vaginal scans 1st, go down have breakfast and drink water and come back for blood test and that’s just what i did.

Beauty & Skincare, The Travel Tales

trips and treats

For me to churn out back to back posts, i’m obviously bored.

I was supposed to head off to Bandung today with the family to buy our Hari Raya Kain and do the tailoring there and be done with it. But alas, the doctor refused to let me travel cos i need to have another scan tomorrow and it can’t wait till Monday and i don’t wanna be selfish, knowing how long we waited for this and also how much i want this to be a success. So we cancelled the flight and hotel for both of us. But luckily it’s just Bandung lah. Not too ex but it’s stil moneyyyy. Ok, i don’t wanna whine anymore. My family dah pergi pun. Dah sampai Bandung pun. Entah2 tengah sedap makan that Nasi wIth Ikan Bakar. grrrrrrr

But before they left for Bandung, i send a moodboard to my sister. Told her to buy kain for me and tailor 2 baju raya for me & rusly. Very daring of us, knowing how particular i am with the fitting of my baju. But we gave a sample of the most comfortable Baju Kurung for her to bring as samples. Rusly one is very straight forward. He will only wear Shantung material  for his Baju Kurung and always the same style every year. Because it hides his tummy and it makes him look yummy to me. HAHAHAHAHA. Really. My husband look extra handsome when he’s decked out in traditional wear. I say one.

I opted for something simpler this year. Mainly chiffon with some border lace Baju Kurung.
Opted for something more flowy so i can stuff myself silly during Raya Open house and it’ll be easier to sit on the floor. Especially when there’s so many people in a house at one time.

Why are we talking about Hari Raya already seh.
I better stop before i start craving for that Pulut Kuning and Rendang Daging again. sigh.

I just hope i can go for that KL day trip with the girls next Saturday. I really really wanna go seh. I hope the doctor let me go. Kalau tak boleh jugak, i’ll go book another flight out somewhere May or June before puasa. I WANT GYUKAKU and i wanna borong Inglot cosmetics. I don’t know why we don’t have Inglot here.

They have such a huge range of colours for everything and the price is reasonable.

As of now, i can order online but they don’t ship directly to Singapore. So i’ll have to use a third party. If anyone is keen to order anything from Inglot (except nail polishes) let me know? Maybe we can combine orders.

Eat Clean

clean & green

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you’ve probably seen these pictures!
I’ve been trying to eat cleaner meals now. Trying. Because i am just human. Sometimes i falter.
Although my willpower walking through the supermarket aisle, especially the snacks section has improved tremendously. I can walk past all the potato chips like it don’t matter and while i’m no health guru or start downing solely brown rice, i’m steering clear of Fast Food Restaurants, particularly Mc’Donalds and Instant food. Like Instant Noodles.

Throughout these past few weeks, i’ve learnt that in order for you to eat healthily, you have to plan ahead your meals.
Planning your meals ahead will make things easier for you to cook and make you feel less inclined to throw in the towel and just order Mc’Donalds delivery.

Healthy foods can be yummy too. Don’t torture yourself by eating salad only. You can eat healthy and eat yummy food as well.

Friendship, Makan Chronicles

lunch & dinner

I had a few lunch & dinner dates last few weeks!
All with different people from different phase of my life.

First up is my Carousel lunch date with Ain & Baby Zafran!
Rina was supposed to come with us but FDR just had to be a spoilsport. Hahahahaha

No 3Yummy food at Carousel as usual. My first time having lunch there. I’m usually having dinner there and the food spread for lunch is not bad! In fact, save for a few dishes here and there, it’s close to the dinner spread.

we got prawn-ed!

Prawning with the usual suspects.

No 2

My 1st time prawning and i can’t really say i totally enjoy it. It is a patience game and patience is something i do not possess.

We first went to Bottle Tree Park but got so shocked at how small the prawning area is. Everybody sits too close to each other and i like my own space, thank you very much. I can tahan people sitting close with me, if it’s friends or i’m having dinner but i prefer not to sit too close with a stranger for 3 hours. That’s too close for comfort.

So we head off to Jurong instead and settled for Hai Bin at Jurong. Bahhhh so much better.
They had a few prawning pools and i think we’re all well spaced out and that place has got good ventilation.
It’s pretty inaccessible though so you have to drive there. Not sure if there are buses running at that area. They have another outlet in Punggol, if that’s nearer to you. Hai Bin operates 24 hours. So if you can’t sleep and you fancy some fishing, you can go there!
