Year End Clean

There’s something i do each year-end.

Spring cleaning. De-cluttering. To welcome the brand new year.
I started with the Bag section this week. Most of the bags i no longer use, i either throw or re-home them, depending on their value.
Then i realised i had some leftover scrapbook papers and decided to wallpaper the entire bookcase.
i’m still wallpapering them and i hope to finish it by next week!

Next would be my makeup section! I need to throw out lipsticks that has been around for more than 8 months and then rearrange everything else because i just realised the makeup section is overflowing.

After that would be the nails section and then the accessories section.
Very ambitious i know.

Happy Holidays people!
My holiday is spent watching Gossip Girl re-runs (i’m now back on Season 2!) while clearing all Card Maison artworks!
Off for a double movie date tonight to watch 47 Ronin and i’m hoping tomorrow we can go eat at East Coast. I miss the Honey Chicken Wings there.

Speaking about movies, ever since i discovered Cathay West Mall have these Elite Club Seats, i never go to any other movie theatre! The seats are uber-comfortable cos u can recline the back rest and the leg rest. Not to mention, the leg room is so spacious.
Tickets are from $11.50 – $15.00. Not that much difference from the normal ticket price for the additional comfort. Not sure if it’s available at any other Cathay Theatres though but worth checking it out!

Bag-O-Love

playground

I’ve been looking for an idea to store my bags and the little knick knacks i have nicely for quite sometime. It all began with the quest for the new wardrobe and then one thing led to another. As usual.

so anyway, i’ve been following this lady on Instagram for quite some time. I LOVE her bags especially all the candy-coloured Hermes.I don’t have a strong urge yet to get a Hermes but i know it is something i would love to have eventually. .

So anyway back to this girl she has one of the nicest ‘playground’ i’ve seen so far. A no-frills basic setup.

BL3

U can totally tell that she’s into Chanel & Hermes and look at all her Hermes. They are so colourful!

online temptations.

that feeling when u receive so many email notifications on X’Mas Sale for online stores but u are refraining from succumbing to the temptation because you know how awful shipping is during the X’Mas Season.

As much as it is so tempting to buy, shipping is such a bitch during the festive season.

Last year, i ordered $300 worth of clothes (together with my ex-colleagues) through Dorothy Perkins online, shipped from UK to Singapore and it took a whole 2 months before Vpost could detect it and notify me of the shipment. For that 2 whole months, my tracking just could not be detected. My order was stated as shipped on DP’s website but when i tried tracking it, it was unavailable. Imagine my distress for that 2 months. Stuff i ordered that should have reached me by Christmas got held off and i received it closer to Chinese New Year. Selamat bukan Hari Raya!

At the same time, i ordered some clothes from ASOS worth about $100 and used their Free Worldwide Shipping, obviously with no Tracking no, cos it’s free anyway, Ahhhhh bad move. The entire thing just got lost in transition.
i never did get what i ordered and ASOS Customer during festive season wasn’t very helpful at all.

This year, i’m never ordering anything online this festive season unless i can get expedited shipping free or less than USD$20.00 cos i don’t see any point paying more than S$30.00 for shipping alone.

I’m still waiting for my Forever 21 loot from the Black Friday Sale. But at least i know it’s with Vpost now.
I’m not even considering shopping at the mall. The crowd is horrendous. Everybody is out there buying stuff!

Trying To Conceive

protected!

If you go through my posts tagged “Trying To Conceive”, you’ll see most of it are locked up with a password now.

With the recent viral post, i got really uncomfortable with posting too detailed details. But i know a few percentage of my readers are trying to conceive as well in fact some of you started seeing a gynae for fertility check after reading my posts to see if anything is wrong as well and while i don’t think people should be judgemental on people who are trying very hard to conceive, i just can’t help but feel maybe i should let the viral post die down a bit before i start posting freely about TTC.

Meanwhile, if you still wanna read my post on TTC, you can email me at bride.blogette@gmail.com for the password. That’s all you have you to do and i’ll give you the password. It would be even awesome if you have a blog and include your blog link! I would love to read about others TTC journey!

When everything dies down a bit and this blog is not getting so much attention, i’ll blog more openly on my TTC journey.

13,000 new visitor and 19,000 page views over 3 days is a bit too much attention for me. Lol
how the hell did it get all viral i have no idea! Hahahaha

Musings of a Bride, The Husband & Wife

going viral

Yesterday i got a notification from WordPress saying my site stats are higher than usual and i was wondering why.

Then yesterday morning, my sister sent me a screenshot of one of my post shared on FB and apparently it is somehow going viral without me realising because i don’t see it on my own FB Newsfeed!
Nampak sangat most of the people in my friendlist dah tua, dah kahwin, and dah tak kisah pasal wedding. Hahaha

The post responsible is: How I Managed The Wedding Budget

Hello new readers!
Just a point to note, my wedding was in 2011 and that post was written in 2012. So prices may have increased.
So please don’t quote my price when u ask the vendors ok? Cos it would be unfair to them. Heh.

But above all, i hope you take that post with a pinch of salt. What may work for me may not work for you.
I’m never against anyone who throw a big fat wedding in fact i love weddings and i feel if you can afford it, go spend your hard-earned moolah on your Big Day. But i’m against taking loans (bank / personal) for weddings. I feel that it’s irresponsible and that’s what i feel and you don’t have to agree with me. 🙂

The Husband & Wife

who run the world?

FB

I think the husband is gonna kill me when he sees this tomorrow.

When u’re married, you’ll learn new things about your partner and one of those things i’ve learned, my husband rarely get sick, when he does fall sick, u feel like the world is tearing apart. Like everything else does not matter except that he’s running a flu and it’s almost like an epidemic. He’ll sleep for hours and hours, get all cranky and show you that sick face and make you wonder if Flu is really that bad.

On the other hand, i fall sick so bloody often, a flu is chicken mcnugget. I hate to take Panadol or any medications so i’ll just let it go away by itself. You would think for someone who refuse to self-medicate, i would have a better immune system eh?

So yes, i’m just waiting for this flu, cold and blocked nose to go away by itself while i go drink Ribena at the living room. After all, Ribena is chockful of Vitamin C and Vitamin C is good for the immune system, yes?

Makan Chronicles, The Husband & Wife

sweet treats

a week after the surgery, after lying down 75% of the time at home, drowsy from all medications, i said to the husband, “Sod it. We are going out for a date tonight. I don’t want to drink any more soup / Jeli gamat / Chicken Essence. I want Cakes! I want Pavlova. I want Big fat juicy burgers”

That brought us to Butterscotch Cafe! A newly opened muslim-owned Cafe at Bt Merah Central.

Location-wise, Bukit merah is a place i go to once every 3 years? Or 5 years. Not kidding cos i don’t know anyone who stays that area. But now Butterscotch is there, maybe i can do a twice a year trip to Bukit Merah.
If you’re going there after 7.00pm, good luck on trying to find a parking spot. Srap that, actually you can find a parking spot. plenty of it but after 7.30pm, the ENTIRE carpark is reserved for seasoned parking and that my friend, is how we got a $50.00 parking ticket (which i honestly can’t be bothered to appeal for).

Now if you are expecting this to be a huge cafe that u can easily find seats for a group of 12, then maybe you’ll be dissapointed cos it’s a cosy cafe with probably about 18 – 20 pax indoor seating. Most of it being couple seats, which i think can be easily transformed to a group seat.

We ordered two mains, which is a mistake i made time and again because i can never finish my mains. Should have just shared it with the husband.

Ramly meets Wendy. A westernised version of the Ramly burger. Quite yummy but portion too big for me. I finished 3/4 of it though.

setting the bar high

at least that’s what he’s doing. Honestly, 1st half of the proposal was a little bit too cheesy for me lah.
But that’s just me. Others might find it cute but it was a little cringe-worthy.

But the last half made me cry cos whatever he said, it was obviously straight from his heart. so raw, so emotional.

ah….. such a nice feeling to be in love!
