The Husband & Wife, The Travel Bug

2013 Travel Bug: Bandung

Early this year, we hopped on a place to Bandung with my family.
12 pax (including 1 baby and 2 toddles, please imagine the mayhem now!)

I didn’t particularly love Bandung, as in the city itself did not attract me as much as Bali. But i went a little crazy with shopping there. particularly at Pasar Baru and Rumah Mode. Next time, if i ever go there again, i’ll spend the entire day at Pasar Baru to borong kain and another day at Rumah Mode to get dirt cheap clothes.

Food was awesome too although i really wish i had time to go Kampung Daun but that’s ok!

Makan Chronicles, The Husband & Wife

his 30th

Last 4th February was his 30th and because we just got back from Bandung, i figured we should just take an additional day leave and celebrate.

Nothing special, we did some errands with the in-laws and was still figuring out what to have for dinner.

We settled for Sakura Charcoal Grilled & Shabu Shabu cos we’ve never been there and they have just acquired their Halal Cert. So off we go to ther other side of Singapore. Like really the other side. Punya lah jauh…. Jin nak singgah pun malas.

the way to Sakura

The Card Maison, The Husband & Wife

2.0.1.2

2012 has been relatively good.
we got our kitchen done and put in all the finishing touch to the home.
although i do think a few more trips to IKEA would be awesome in 2013. hehe

We also had our 1st Iftar and Aidilfitri together in 2012.

We went to Bali for our 1st year Anniversary. That was our first trip, just husband & wife.
I was expecting us to squabble the entire trip. But it was surprisingly calm. Even though i had food poisoning, the husband handled me well. I’m not exactly pleasant to be with when i’m sick. heehee

The Husband & Wife, The Travel Bug

and i keep saying hello.

yes, hello!
it has been a while, no?

I’ve been so busy these days i could barely gather enough thoughts for a proper blog post.
and to be really honest, i’ve got really short-term memory these days. Like really short-term.

Just the other day, while showering, i thought of a genius business plan (or so i thought), but i knew it had something to do with The Card Maison. Anyway, during the entire shower session, all i could think about was that plan and told myself i’m gonna google about some stuff relating to it once i’m out of the shower. Once i’m out of the bathroom, dried my hair and stuff, switched on my laptop, eh, i forgot about the entire thing lah. Macam budak selenger duduk depan laptop trying to remember what i was supposed to google about. Guess what? i still can’t it remember till today.

Our Shoebox, The Husband & Wife

Raya-Ready!

It was our first Raya as husband & wife. Lotsa unexpected, happy things happened on the 1st day of Syawal. Alhamdulillah, all our prayers were answered. It was also chaotic cos we had to time our raya visiting properly, now that we have two sides to go to.

We’ve never practiced Raya Visiting with each other families when we were still engaged / gf-bf stage cos we found it a lil unnecessary, so it was quite nice to be able to meet his cousins etc.

Our Shoebox, The Husband & Wife

cook.bake.wash

and finally we did our kitchen.

we love, love love the new kitchen and i’m so happy we waited for it. Considering that there might be some drastic changes in 2013, i’m glad we don’t have a reno loan to pay off!

We took quite a few quotations, some were reasonable, some were outright outrageous. As much as i would love to support our malay renovation companies, they either give me shitty quotations or shitty service.

I had actually shortlisted one of the renovation companies and then i got to know my colleague’s husband does renovation works. His quote is about 1k higher than the one i shortlisted but i know it will give me a peace of mind knowing that i’m getting a person i can trust to do up my kitchen. So i went ahead with it.

Kitchen Projects, The Husband & Wife

our 1st ramadhan

Has been pretty awesome, really.

I’ve pretty much try to be more hands-on in the kitchen more, cook more for iftar and i’m happy at the end of the day, when we sit down for iftar, bila dia baca doa buka puasa, satu macam nya feeling yang tersangat best.

Imperfect he may be, in other’s eyes. But i choose to only see the perfect side of him.

This would be our 1st Raya together, and i’m excited to see how our plans would be.

How I Managed The Wedding Budget

Disclaimer: I know this post is somehow viral now and i really hope you have a good read.
However, do take note my wedding took place in 2011 and most of the price indicated below is in 2011 ok! Other than that, i hope you have a great takeaway from this entry. 🙂

Sometimes, i get asked on how much i spend for my wedding. Especially by friends yang dah pasang niat (atau pun dah gatal) nak naik pelamin. lol

and most of the time, i can’t give them an exact amount but i know it was less than $12,000 for our combined wedding.

This is achievable but i believe with much discipline, good contacts and lotsa luck. lol

This may or may not work for some people but then again, i just wanna share on how u can cut cost on your wedding.

Do bear in mind, my wedding was a combined wedding for 800 pax and i started planning for it in less than 9 months cos i got my house in January and have to get married latest by October.

The Husband & Wife

the reality is..

Image

you know what i’ve notice after marriage? We argue about really stupid things.
like, how come he did not wash the dishes last night when i specifically told him to.

We have come to an agreement that if i cook, he’ll have to do the dishes (which he hates!) or he do the laundry (which he quite like to do but i hate to see him do it because he just dump everything inside and don’t get me started on how he hangs the clothes up.)

We no longer argue about the other major heartbreaking stuff anymore.
Errrr…like money, ex-boyfriends & girlfriends etc. hahaha

Oh, how lucky.

The Husband & Wife

i’m a free bird

….. after this weekend. I can’t wait to get this done and over with, seriously.
i miss the luxury of doing almost nothing in the office, daily. lol

Just surf the net and each time the boy calls me and ask what i’m doing, i will answer “Buat bodoh jeeeee…..” dengan cerianya. >___<

Nowadays, when he calls and ask,

boy: “buat apa dari tadi?”
me: “eh.. eh.. buat kerja lah. banyak sey benda nak buat.”
boy: “ye ke? u ada kerja ke?”
me: “ok bye.”
