impulsive choices

u know how sometimes when you have an idea in your head and then u are dead set on it and then nothing can change your mind?
Last week, during our last raya visiting, while in the car, one of my fringe was hanging loose, framing the sides of my face.

I saw it on the mirror and thought to myself ” when was the last time i had my hair short?”

Asked the hubby if it is ok to cut le hair. He didn’t exactly say yes but he didn’t say no. So i take it that’s a yes! hahaha

I googled for a suitable short haircut for round face and decided to go for somehow a long bob and i knew right from the start, if i ever have to cut my hair short, i will go to Abg Sam.

Since i was going to town to run some errands with the husband,  i made an appointment with him and let him decide what to do with my hair. In his words, i have quite high cheekbones and a nice jawline (he say one, not i say! hahaha) and then he asked if i am committed to blow-dry my hair. Because i no longer have to rush to work in the morning, i said yes!

He immediately said “ok we cut short!”

I gripped my chair at that moment and kept thinking “what the hell am i doing!!!”

But Abg Sam is very professional. He snipped off my hair within minutes, send me off for a hairwash and blow it dry like the pro he is.
It was all nice and fluffy that even the husband love it. I couldn’t stop touching my bob. Even till now!

i did not take much pictures after that haircut though but i took a picture with Abg Sam because he is just super cute, so chatty & friendly.

a little piece of heaven

Last week we went to Turi beach, batam and had a splendid time!
Firstly, cos it’s on weekdays. So there’s literally no crowd.

By that, i mean really no crowd. we were the only ones in the ferry! Feeling-feeling ferry sendiri!

Granted we took the Ferry from Tanah Merah because we are heading towards Nongsa instead of Batam Centre.
I Like Tanah merah because there’s not much crowd, save for those going to Bintan. Other than that, Immigration situ goyang kaki.

It was a smooth 35min ride. We managed to catch a wink and woke up to another island. Awesome.
Nongsa Immigration pun senyap, unlike the hustle bustle at Batam Centre.

We got picked up by the Shuttle Bus to Turi Beach, which is just a 10mins bus ride away.
Turi Beach resort is really secluded. From the guesthouse to the lobby, there is no way you can walk, especially at night!
but i love the peace & serenity it came with and to be honest, it felt exactly like that time we went to Beyond Resort at Krabi.

Check-in was swift. We managed to get a room upon early check-in cos there’s errr not much guests? LOL
No free wifi so we took a Daily WIFI package at S$20. Not worth it honestly cos we were not in the room most of the time.

Bag-O-Love, Shopping Spree

almost an obsession

something frivolous for today. Ezdi bag posts got me started on this!

u know when i was still in the workforce, i take cabs to and fro work every day.
just because i hate the public transport and my colleagues always tell me, instead of spending close to $700 on cabs every mth, i could get a Chanel Flap every year instead. Or a few LV or Prada or Celine or Balenciaga. U get my drift.
Back then, i will never trade cab rides for anything else. But now that im no longer required to travel back & forth office by cabs, maybe a Chanel a year is possible. That’s if my husband don’t murder me for this. lol

Earlier this month, i invested on my first Balenciaga. I can’t remember which actress was holding a red Balenciaga that made me go O_O
but since then, i knew my first Bal would be red and with rose-gold hardware. Because it has been discontinued in 2012, it would be even harder to track one later so i was so happy when i finally track one!

Trips & Treats

kita yang merancang, Tuhan yang menentukannya.

So drama.
all hopes of any travel escapades this year hancur musnah dan ranap because the husband has recently tendered his resignation and that would mean starting with a new organisation will require him to go through the 3 months probation again, hence no annual leaves.

so, no anniversary trips this year. i think. (i’m still hoping we can squeeze in a short trip somewhere though, cos our anniversary falls on Hari Raya Haji but that also mean he would have to take leave on Monday and i’m not sure if he can do that. le sigh.)

but, if he can’t take leave and we can’t go on trips, i will figure some other memorable stuff we can do. fret not.

on another note, luckily i remembered buying a groupon deal sometime back for Turi Beach Resort at Batam.

It was expiring this month end lah so we managed to scheduled in a trip this thursday since the husband’s last day is this wednesday. a short 2D1N but enough to rejuvenate us to prepare for the tiring weekends ahead.
Cos this Saturday is Metallica!!!!!! \m/
this sunday, we are raya-ing with his colleagues and then next weekend is Azmi & Nori Hort Park Wedding.

Back to the Anniversary trip. If he really wont be able to take the monday off, then a super short weekend getaway would be okay. BIntan or KL pun boleh lah. as long as we get out of the country, laze around in hotel rooms and eat good food, i tak cerewet.

Why am i fretting over something happening in October when it’s not even September, i have no idea.

As for now, i’ll just enjoy our Batam trip aje lah and cross fingers Turi Beach willlook at least half as nice as the picture above.

coloured drinks & pineapple tarts

trivia: my favourite Raya kuih is Tart Nenas & Kuih Makmur. Any house yang ada ni dua kuih, confirm kena sebat.
my husband said i kampong. Because his favourite kuih raya is honey cornflakes. mak ai.

anyway i thought i’m not excited about this year Raya but i take that back.
The raya mood datang secara tiba-tiba 2 days before Shawal.

i cooked a feast twice. 1st day raya for us both and then gave it to the parents & in-laws. Second cook-fest was on 4th day Raya for the in-laws chinese guests. penat gila, i knocked out and took an evening nap after that.

nothing fancy but the sambal goreng pengantin is so tedious to make. i spent a total of 5 hours in the kitchen just to whip all these.
how did our mothers do this, seriously?

1st day raya was very emotional, especially at the in-laws place. Kalau ada award for synchronised crying, kita semua boleh menang.

DIY Project

Selamat Hari Raya!!

Selamat Hari Raya u’olls!
Maaf Zahir Batin kalau ada tersalah type in my blog / FB / Instagram (depending on where u follow me at) and i f i have offended you in any way.

It’s the 2nd Raya as husband & wife and it’s even better now!
We learnt from our mistakes last year on raya visiting (it was a lil chaotic) so kita plan swee-swee this year.

I also did a few DIY jobs this year even though it was last minute. But mad happy cos i didn’t spend much on them cos most of it were DIY-ed using some recycled materials. If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll probably have seen this already!
