Selamat Hari Raya u’olls!
Maaf Zahir Batin kalau ada tersalah type in my blog / FB / Instagram (depending on where u follow me at) and i f i have offended you in any way.
It’s the 2nd Raya as husband & wife and it’s even better now!
We learnt from our mistakes last year on raya visiting (it was a lil chaotic) so kita plan swee-swee this year.
I also did a few DIY jobs this year even though it was last minute. But mad happy cos i didn’t spend much on them cos most of it were DIY-ed using some recycled materials. If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll probably have seen this already!
One night, my itchy fingers rolled some ribbons and i got this.
These aren’t perfect so i rolled few more until i get it almost right.
and then i found some leftover chiffon and then get the edges burned.
and made them into chiffon poppies!
Lepas tu tak tau nak buat apa ngan all these poppies. But i remembered something.
i had some extra burlap strings and satin ribbons so i gave my cookie bottles a makeover!
next few days, while looking for curtains for the home, i dropped by Chinatown to get some fabrics to get materials for cushion covers.
Cos i just can’t get a nice plain Tiffany Blue cushion covers that are not too kerawang-ish. u get what i mean?
Made this for my office. colour and design is so yummy!
then i started on the materials for the living room cushion covers.
ta-dah! my cheap cheap cushion covers at less than $20.00 for all 5 pcs.
remember the rolled ribbons earlier? I grabbed the extra Ikea vase i had and made it into our coffee table centerpiece.
This year we also added a few new furnitures to replace some of the pass-me-downs and our home is finally raya-ready!
Although i really wish it is always this spick & span lah. hahahaha
till next entry!
Okay I wish I have DIY skills like you so I can save money and do pretty things! Those are nice!
Thanks babe! u can do it lah!
Just be armed with hot glue and u’ll be fine!
I love the burlap string.. boleh beli kat mane? 🙂
If i’m not wrong ii got it at SKP!
of all places! hahaha
It’s the same area as their plastic gift bags situ
eh you so talented ni apasal!! tak fair tau!
anyway, selamat hari raya dyan! maaf zahir batin yer! 🙂
hahahahaha

Selamat Hari Raya! Maaf Zahir Batin!
hi dyan! selamat hari raya from me & don 🙂
i tied that twine and finally put my burlap ribbon to good use too on the tempat kuehs. suker!
Selamat Hari Raya to you & Don!
I wanna see your tempat kueh! heh
Wow seriously Dyan, ever since you previewed your home in some long ago entry (the kitchen nye), I’m madly in love with your house. It’s really gender neutral but shows that a woman lives here obviously! You’re literally my inspiration for our new house 🙂
awwwww you are far too kind!
We are keeping the house to be neutral colour so that we can throw in a splash of colours here & there. It’ll be interesting when you get your own place and then you can play around with beautifying it. 🙂
