No we are not in Tokyo. Yet.
We’ll be in Tokyo in less than 3 months now! Yaaaaay.
It’ll be our 1st Winter holiday. Brrrrr. I know Rusly is secretly happy to have a winter holiday on his birthday. My husband seriously got thick skin. Can withstand cold very well. On the other hand, i get cold really easily.

I’m finally done with the 1st stage of planning!

Will be flying via Singapore Airlines and snagged tickets for the 3 of us at $1500, which is a good deal cos that’s what it’ll cost for Budget Airlines if we didn’t book our tickets reallly early. Like at least 10 months early.

We were ding-dong-ing between booking AirBNB or Hotel and finally decided on AirBNB cos we found a decent apartment at a decent price at a good location.

It is a nice size for the 3 of us and most importantly it is quite close to Shinjuku Subway, which is the busiest station on Tokyo. In the world, even. That’s because there’s so many lines running through the station so it’ll be easy for us to go from one place to another. Cos taxis are really cekik darah there. A 10 minutes distance can cost you about $30.00 gitu? So we must take the subways and i’ve been studying the subway lines intensely. Pening ah but do-able?

I’ve already done up the itinerary for this trip and Disneyland is definitely in it.
Other than that, we’ll be heading to Shibuya, Harajuku, Roponggi, Asakusa and Mount Fuji. Would love to go to more places but we’re trying to pace ourselves since ada Nadya, and it’s winter.

I was thinking of getting Winter Clothes in January. Hopefully it’ll be cheaper then. Probably will just get one Down Jacket from Uniqlo here and then buy another one from Uniqlo Japan cos it’ll be cheaper. I’ve already got some HeatTech Tops from Uniqlo cos they were on Sale at $14.90 last week. So i bought few pieces for myself & Rusly. Will also get heat packs for me & Nadya especially. Obviously worried about the cold. Tapi nak pergi winter holiday. Lol.

I think we can survive the city but because we’ll be heading to Mount Fuji area, it’ll be even colder there. Friends who’ve been to Japan mentioned that February is the coldest month in Japan cos Winter is ending soon. So we’ll really need to bundle up but i don’t think i’ll buy too many winter clothes. Just get some basic ones and then buy a few more in Japan. Mana tau ada Sale? Cos they’ll need to get rid of their winter clothes also kan.

I’ll need to get a pair of boots for myself though. Rusly will be wearing his Timberland Boots and even though i’ve got one, i realized the sole is the same as sneakers and it’ll probably be too slippery so maybe i’ll get one of Timberland boots as well.

Was thinking of the pink one! So cute!

I was initially thinking of getting it thru Amazon for US$120.00. Shipping would roughly be S$35 – S$40. it Will be about S$200.00. It’s selling at S$249.00 at our local stores. Not sure if it’s worth the hassle though. Cos i already know what’s my Timberland size. I’m also not sure if i should go and get the classic Wheat Yellow colour instead cos it’s easier to match and it’s a classic.

I did manage to get Nadya some cute Winter Boots at H&M when we were in KL. SO CUTE!!!! Ada bulu2 lagik seh. And murah gila. Hahahaha. I bought few size bigger cos she’ll have to wear socks and also cos kaki dia cepat gila grow.

Then stuff like gloves & scarfs, i’ll just get it from Taobao. Cheap cheap good good.

What’s left to do now is to decide if we want to take the Narita Express / Limousine Bus from the Airport to Shinjuku. There’s not much difference in cost and journey time. Plus minus je. But luckily our AirBNB host was nice enough to let us check in early at 12.00 noon instead of 3.00pm so kita takyah lah merayau2 macam perantau tak betul.

We’ll need to drop by Takashimaya one of these days to purchase our Disneyland tickets and book the day tour to Mount Fuji from JTB. Mula-mula angan2 nak pergi Lake Kawaguchi on our own to view the Mount Fuji. Tapi laki aku pulak sibuk nak naik Bullet Train segala and seriously aku malas nak pikir how the hell we’re gonna take the Bullet Train from our trip to Lake Kawaguchi. Dengan anak aku lagi. Tak kuasanya aku nak pikir. So yes, day tour sudah. Naik lah bullet train tu. Jangan dia tido sudah. Mengamok aku nanti!

I’ve also listed down all the halal places that we’ll be going to! Best gila part ni.
I search for #halaljapan on Instagram and got a few places i would love to visit and they’re located at the places that we’ll be going. Yay yay!

I have intense love for Sushi & Sashimi and BBQ Meats. So this trip, i will makan sampai aku jelak.

And you know what’s chronic? We’re not even done with Rusly’s birthday trip yet and i’m already surveying ticket flights for MY birthday trip, which is in October 2016, Insha Allah kalau panjang umur. Much to Rusly’s annoyance. Especially since i keep going “Eh New York k. Amacam, New York ok?” hahahahaha.

Member macam nak beli one-way ticket to India untuk aku. Sadded.

Baby Nadya is 9months now. 3 more months to her 1st birthday. Whuttt.
Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

She don’t look as chubby as she did many months ago. Although the chunky thighs look like they’re staying. But i’m guessing the losing weight part is normal cos like my dad says, she needs to be more active now cos she’s learning how to stand & crawl. And this girl is active, alright. I don’t even want to imagine how having boys would be like. Almost want to tell Rusly, let’s just stop at one. Hahaha

Like trying to check out whether i’m really working.. or Online shopping.

Or going in & out the exersaucer. That’s not how you use the exersaucer, baby!

Or try and find ways on how to reach for things by going up her Bumbo seat.

Sometimes she plays on her own but most of the time she wants me to layan her and play with her. So mummy gotta drop whatever she’s doing to play with her instead. We’ve installed the safety gate for the kitchen cos she kept crawling in and hide under the kitchen cabinets. 

I was expecting her to crawl more but she love standing up and bouncing up & down instead. She figured out how to move from one place to another by ‘walking” and supporting herself with the sofa and sometimes it’s really scary but i guess i’m the “gasak kau lah” parent while Rusly is the “No…. she’ll fall. Don’t let her do that” kind of parent.

I guess when you’re a stay-at-home mum, you kinda know better what your child is capable of doing and you’re not that scared? I don’t know man. Or maybe it’s just me. I sometimes think i baby her too much but sometimes i think i’m too relaxed with her. I let her do whatever she want to. As long as it’s not dangerous lah.

Somebody can tie hair already lah seh. Chey.. dah kakak2. Lol
And you know last month, she only have 4 teeth? Apparently few days after turning 8months, 4 more is out and now she has 8 teeth! Not kidding you. Baby has toddler teeth, and she’ll bite everything! Especially clothes. And her teeth are conversation starters lah. Nyonya & makciks like to go “eh banyaknya gigi… dah berapa bulan?”

I think right now is quite fun to be around her cos she knows how to play and all but it’s tiring. Man, it’s tirinnnng. But fun lah! I know it’ll be even more tiring as she grows up but that’s ok. I should really cherish all this. She will grow up really fast.

She’s 9 months already. That was fast, man.

We went on an impromptu Batam Trip with my sisters & parents. Impromptu cos we planned it on Friday, bought tickets on Friday evening and off we go on Saturday morning.

Without Rusly though cos he had to go for his jamming session so i took it as a day out with my family.

With my 2 sisters! Do you honestly see similarities? I cannot.

It was Nadya’s 1st Ferry ride and it didn’t occur to me that she might have seasick. That’s because i don’t get seasick, i took it for granted that she might not. Until my sisters mentioned about it and i was like “oh shit! I have not googled on how to avoid seasick for babies!” hahaha

But alas, this girl pun tak seasick. She slept thru the ferry ride after the whole jakun of seeing laut and bigger ferries next to us and all.

Had the usual Nasi Padang meal for the 1st stop of the day. I was so hungry!
I think we polished off most of the dishes.

Distracted Nadya with snacks so i can eat in peace!

On the way to Nagoya Hills, someone approached us for Taxi which we declined and then he asked “Telur Penyu?”

NAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKK!!!!

Oh i miss Telur Penyu. I remember craving for it during my pregnancy. Hahahaha. No, this is not the time for you to give me your #savethepenyu speech. Thank you.

Somebody’s enjoying her new ride too much.
Can i just mention how convenient it is now that she can sit up? Hahahaha

Because Rusly wasn’t around, they had to help me with the diaper bag and my own sling bag! Lol. I honestly can do it myself but selagi boleh bully, kita bully.

We found this small stall selling this rolled ice cream at S$1.00.
Satu dollar, korangs. That’s the price of what? Kita nya Solero?
I let Nadya have a taste of it and she kept asking for more. I created a monster. A sugar-rushed one.

I just had to take a picture of this.
Local manufactured Mamypoko Pants were selling at S$6.00 per pack of 30 pieces. Whuuuut. Sumpah aku jakun.

But i didn’t get it cos i prefer getting the Thailand-manufactured ones, which is available in our local stores. Batam Hypermart is selling it at S$15.50. Locally, they’re selling it at S$21.90. So i grabbed 3 packs at one go. I would have bought more if Rusly was around. Hahahaha.

I also bought loads of Instant Noodles. Indon instant noodles is sedap gila ok.
Even better than the ones we get in local supermarket.

Then on sunday, we dropped by the Baby Fair. I honestly don’t know when we’ll stop going baby fairs! hahahaa

But this time round, we spent lesser and our trip was really a quick one.

Got her a new Car Seat from Cosatto and Safety Gate from Safety 1st.
Also stocked up the wetwipes from Organic Story. I think they’re working out to be just as fine for Nadya. And it’s cheap! Also stocked up on bath products from Bud’s Organics & California Baby. So so much cheaper!

Me & matching baby! Denims & Headbands day! 

My little shinku is 7 months old now. Yes, i call her shinku at home and i have no idea what it means and how it started but i just call her that. Don’t judge me! I like making up names for fun.

So now, where do we start? 
The part where i can see her two upper teeth slowly descending?
You know i gotta pat this girl’s back. Each time she’s teething, i don’t realise it that much cos she does not make that much fuss or run a fever. Alhamdulillah.
Ni bukan eksyen anak aku kuat gila macam juara eh. But really, twice it caught me offguard cos she showed no signs except for excessive drooling but then again, she’s always been an excessive drooler seh.

The part where she kind of know how to feed herself. Kind of, because she’s always making a mess! Makan sikit, bersepah2 makanan. She’s on semi-baby led weaning. I don’t count on BLW for her to get her nutritions. More like a time where she can explore food & texture and hone her motor skills. Most of the time i still feed her with porridge etc. More about her food in another post! Oooh it’s an adventure on it’s own! 

Baby can finally sit on her own! Tengok tu dia duduk macam taukeh.
She goes on all four but does not seem to move forward or backward yet. Engine belum panas so kita biarkan je lah dia.

I got her this Exersaucer cos i cannot tahan dia lompat2 everytime i carry her. Waaaahhh my peha i tell you macam kena lenyek2. Kalau makin kecik peha aku ni takpe lah jugak. And in case you’re wondering what’s that thing on her head, i got her Em’s 4 Bubs Earmuffs for her cos we wanna bring to concerts / jamming sessions & movies safely. Many times i wanna bring her but i get paranoid, takut if it’s too loud for her and also if it might hurt her delicate eardrums. But what to do, she’s got a clingy mom who’s always at noisy places! Lol.

In case you’re interested in the earmuffs as well, get them off Amazon! They’re cheaper! You can also buy it from the official website but the shipping from Australia is a killer! At least with Amazon, sambil u order anything from other US Websites, boleh selitkan ni sekali. I also chose Em’s cos of the elastic band. It’s soft and does not hurt her head. The other earmuffs for babies looks slightly restrictive so i’m guessing it might hurt her a bit.

Nadya can recognise the people she sees all the time. I can leave her at my parent’s place and she’ll not cry or look for me. However, if i leave her with strangers, she’ll start looking around, just to make sure i’m nearby. She is fine with strangers picking her up and many times we get the “ehhhh tak takut orang ehhh” remarks and this girl sometimes tak malu one kind, she’ll smile at other people tak pasal2 orang tu kena senyum balik kat dia!

We were at the polyclinic previously for her jab and then she kept smiling at this grumpy apek next to her and he had to smile back at her unwillingly. hahahahha. It was so hilarious to watch!

And you know people keep telling me ohhh she’ll start to sleep lesser when she’s above 6mths cos that’s when they start being really active? She woke up at 12.00 noon today! Melampau anak aku! And that was after i kind of forced her to wake up cos dah kul 12, tak mandi2 and and belum feed etc. She’ll usually wake up between 10am – 12noon from her night sleep and then take a short nap at about 3.00pm and another nap at 7.00pm.

And because she had enough rest, she moves all the time when she’s awake. I’m tempted to go get the fenced play pen thing cos she kept going to the kitchen! Ooooh chasing after a baby is tiring!

We do all these stupid things to her all the time. Because this is the only time we can get away with it!

Selamat Hari Raya!

Our 1st time Raya with Nadya and it was fun! OK let’s be honest, it was slightly nerve-wrecking as well but the fun and joy outweighs everything!

My eve of Raya was spent cooking a storm in the kitchen. Spent a total of 9 hours cos i was the only one doing it. Boohoo. But so satisfying to eat your home-cooked Raya dish! Even brought it over to my father-in-law’s place and spent Malam Raya there. Was overwhelmed with sadness cos i miss my mother-in-law and kept staring at the seat she used to occupy. She would have love the sambal goreng the most.

Managed to design, print, cut & seal up these money packets at the very last minute and got Rusly to go to the bank on Raya Eve to change smaller notes. Totally forgot about this seh! Lucky masih ada notes. Not new notes but recycled notes but gasak lah. Janji budak2 dapat duit. Dia tak kisah note tu bau kedai ke tak.

my baby is 6mths old today!! 

  
I’ve started her on solids 2 weeks ago, just for fun. She’s really like carrots so far and we’ve tried pumpkin & banana as well so far. Next week would be apple & buttersquash nut. So fun to see her eat. She was really interested initially but didn’t really like eating much the 1st few days.. But i kept trying and Alhamdulillah she is fine with eating. 

She has been lifting up her upper body like a champion tapi bontot masih berat so yeapp.. Ikut mak dia ah suspek. 

Will write more on her eating journey soon cos i’m actually on mobile, stuck in a jam. Lol.

So excited for this year’s Raya. Mainly for her. Not much for me & Rusly. The house is still tonggang terbalik and i’m not in a rush to do anything yet. Although i’ve been doing some changes to Nadya’s room! Did some Daiso & IKEA hack. So cute! Nanti lah dah siap betul2 baru tunjuk ok. 

I think Nadya is ready to sleep in her own room. By 8.30pm, she’ll be fast asleep and i’ll change her diapers by 11.30pm and give her last feed if she happen to wake up during diaper change and then she’ll sleep till 9.00am the next morning. 

Mummy also macam dah ready to let her sleep in her own room. Tapi suspek bapak dia tak ready. 

Step macam kalau budak tu nangis malam2, dia pulak yang bangun. Menyampah aku. 

So we have a new addition in the group!
Budak malu-malu nak bukak mata. Tak tau dia malu ke or tak kuasa cos we were making so much noise and he slept through it. Oh i miss the newborn days!

As always, it’s a riot when we meet. We shared funny anecdotes on labour. Now that we’ve survived labour, it’s funny lah kan. It’s so nice to see the group expanding. When we all 1st met properly, Rina was pregnant with Shafa, although some of us actually met at Farna’s wedding and Shafa is turning one veryyyyy soon!

Before we know it, we have a new mummy and another soon-to-be mummy. Izan will have another friend in September!

Did not realised how big Nadya is now until i put her next to a newborn. Tiba2 anak aku macam besar pulak. Where did my newborn go?

Nadya seems to like Ezdee a lot! She went on and on ‘talking’ to E, macam dia tau Aunty E is carrying a boy, kan!

Following up from my previous Diaper bag post where i got my 1st Ju-Ju-Be.
I bought the Hobobe at first and it really served me well. It’s good for quick trip out but on days where we’ll be out the entire day, it’ll be a little squeezy in there and i can’t fit in my digicam. #firstworldproblems.

Since Nadya will start eating soon and we’ll then bring out snacks lah etc, i thought upgrading to a bigger bag would be useful. I love the Ju-ju-be material and the fact that it’s light on it’s own so i looked around for a size i want & like.

Since i’ve already got the Admiral design from the Nautical Collection, i was aiming for the Countess next from the Legacy Collection! But which type?
I wanna try the backpack style next but i was scared if it might be bulky. Especially since i babywear all the time. Imagine front carry, back carry. Aku dah lah besar, then rempuh semua orang. although i’ll be the best person to bring to Bazaar Geylang. Abis semua aku rempuh nanti.

The only option i have is the Be Right Back or the BFF. But honestly, i don’t like the Be Right Back one that much and it does not come in The Countess design. So BFF it is! I contemplated for quite some time though. Looking at Youtube videos to see how big it’ll look like and all.

When i 1st saw it, i thought it was a little bulky. But after wearing it, it wasn’t as bulky seh! It fits me just nice!

This is how i look like when i go out with Nadya most of the time! It’s really convenient except that i don’t like putting my wallet & HP behind cos of the possibility of being pick-pocketed. In conclusion, i really like the BFF that i got myself another one!

I love Geometric designs and this one is love at 1st sight. Love the mixture of pink, grey & black. Neutral with a pop of colour!

So this time round, i got myself the BFF and the Be Set, which is a trio of small bags that can be converted into slings. So handy to have! They even gave me a free coin pouch cos i spent more than $100.00 on Pinky Swear items.

The next one i’m patiently waiting for is the Perky Toki! It’s the only Tokidoki print from Ju-Ju-Be that i like!

It’s Pastel coloured and the Tokidoki cartoons are spread apart. Won’t be getting the BFF though! Probably get a Be Set and the Starlet Bag cos we need a duffel bag for holidays & swimming trips!

Sigh… what did i get myself into. I’m sinking deeper into the diaper bag hole.
But then, it’s all i use these days seh. I no longer use all my designer bags. Sometimes i take them out and stroke them but the thought of putting in a flask and all inside them bags macam so sayang gitu.

So cute diaper bags then!

and i do know of people who use these diaper bags as normal work bags! hahahaha. Poisoning you guys to buy also! Lol
