The Husband & Wife, The Travel Bug

Day 1: Phuket & Patong Beach

The 1st day of the Trip was the most relaxing part of the whole trip.

We boarded our Plane to Phuket at 8.20am without any delays on our side so yeah, the trip started without any hitch. The journey, which was roughly a hour plus went smoothly cos the weather was fine.
Thankfully it was a short journey cos Jetstar seats are really really cramped.
I would definitely avoid Jetstar planes if i can.

We arrived Phuket at about 9.10am (Phuket Time) and was whisked off to our Resort by our driver.

It was a 45mins ride from the Airport to Palmyra Patong Resort.

I was thrilled when we reach the hotel because it was far enough from the hustle & bustles of Patong Beach but close enough for us to be close to the heart of Patong.

We could not check in till 1.00pm so we went out to hunt for Lunch and search for a suitable package to Phi Phi Island.

We found a Phi Phi Island package just nearby at only 950 baht (S$38.00) which was a real bargain cos i was expecting to pay
roughly 1200 baht (S$48.00) – 1700 baht (S$68.00).

After settling for the package, we flagged down our very first Tuk-Tuk to bring us down to the nearest Restaurant that serves Halal cuisine
and he brought us over to Beach Road. We couldn’t remember what was the name of that place cos we were too hungry and the weather was really really hot.

It was fairly cheap and good enough for our 1st Thai meal!

We then went back to our Hotel, Palmyra Patong to check in to our rooms and was amazed at how huge the room is.
It was really clean cos it was recently renovated and the pool was really inviting.

We went out again by 2.00pm to go sightseeing with the same Tuk Tuk Driver and he brought us to Chalong Bay where there were various activities like ATV and Shooting Ranges.

We were back at Patong Beach by 5.00pm. Managed to get my Banana Pancake which was oh so delish!

Suddenly we noticed the dark clouds and the locals were shouting frantically for us to move away from the Beach.
Within seconds, there were slight drizzle and a wind storm and beach umbrellas were flying all over the place and the local shopkeepers closed shops immediately.

To be honest, i freaked out a little. I mean, who wouldn’t?
I was at an area where the Tsunami happened afterall. All i could do was say a little prayer that all of us will be safe.

The drizzle stopped after a while and we tried to find our way to Sala Spa.
It was so hard getting there! We went through dead ends and multiple Mc’Donalds & Starbucks before we found them.
Had a 90mins Oil Massage for only 650 baht (S$26.00).
The spa was great and we left the place feeling very satisfied with the service.

We then headed over to Jungceylon with an intention to watch a movie but decided against it since we were pretty tired from the early flight and the endless walking.
We ended the night early with Dinner from Dubai restaurant cos we had to wake up by 7am the next day for the Phi Phi Island Trip.

Our appointment was scheduled at 10.10am this morning. We reached HDB at about 9.30am, got our Fire Insurance and then get our Q no.

We were called up in less than 5mins, even earlier than our appt time.

The HDB officer went thru a lot of the documents with us, from the loan, the grant etc and there were soooo many documents to sign. Like seriously banyak!

My signature daripada straight sampai senget2 sey.

But i am glad we have finally got the keys and we can now do our measurements for the kitchen etc.

It’s gonna be an exciting ride! 🙂

Musings of a Bride

Burn Baby Burn

Just so u know i have abt 5mths to go before the wedding.

The boy and my MUA reminded me not to cut my hair after i found a picture of me last year and posted it on FB and said i’m tempted to cut my hair.

20110519-223924.jpg

Yes, like this. Taklah pendek sangat kan but everyone freak out cos i have been quite impulsive with my hairstyle esp during hot weathers.

I hate it that my hair now looks so boring and macam kakak2. Lol

So no cutting of hair till Oct. Sigh.

Have i told u guys i got really tanned recently? I went to Sentosa with the boy and his friends lah the last long weekend.

That time macam mendung, tak panas terik sgt so i only apply sunblock nak tak nak je, swimming dari kul 11 sampai kul 4, when i got to the ladies i freaked out pasal muka da merah mcm udang and my arms ada this awful tan lines. Boring sgt.

Balik apply macam2 whitening cream. Dah start nak putih balik ah but my arms remain the same. Haha
Muka putih badan gelap. Tsk.

Then last weekend, Jentayu volunteered our services to Darul Ma’wa for their Maulidurrasul and guess what? The same thing happened again!

Last year, when we volunteered for Darul Ma’wa charity carnival, i came back with this.

This year, i came back with this:

Yes, terbakar kat tempat sama jugak.
Nape lah nasib cam kentang and I’m the only one who got burned! Tsk.

Ni pun ada hati nak gi Tioman in june. Luckily luxury tours cancel that trip cos no more rooms. Kalau tak, mak andam mesti bising muka belak belak.

No more swimming till october!
No cutting hair till october!
No unnecessary spending till october!
Entah apa lagik tah yang aku tak ley bikin till october!

😦

Hello Tok Kadi!

Finally managed to book our Kadi last night. Wanted Kadi Hassan Salim but i don’t know why, none of his dates are opened. Takkan nak call dia malam2 buta suruh open date kan.

It was a funny thing, last night. The boy was getting ready to sleep when i called him and freak out that i couldn’t get Kadi Hassan. Member dah blur when i told him of other options.

We only have 7 available kadi at that date and time that we wanted.
Kelam-kabut aku google muka kadi nak make sure that muka dorang tak garang.
Ada boleh jumpa, ada tak dapat. Ada kadi ada facebook, tapi tak nampak muka pasal dorang privatise dorang nya facebook. Terror gak dorang eh. lol

It was down to two Kadi, Mohd Khair Bin Rahmat and Mokson bin Mohari.
We could only find the picture of the latter and he looks friendly enough for me and because his name is unique, it might be easier for us to remember if people ask who our kadi was. lol

I couldn’t find Kadi Mohd Khair face on google and didn’t wanna take a risk. Takut kang nanti dia datang, muka garang, kesian tunang aku. haha

So we settled for Kadi Mokson Bin Mohari to be our official solemniser.
Yay! One more thing settled!

Now i can’t wait for the weekend to be over, get my keys and go to the Branch Office to get them to settle my flooring then to the Town Council to book my venue.

Everything is falling into place finally. 🙂

Discovered!

If you’re reading this, HELLO B!!!!!!!

Yes, the boy found out about my wedding blog and he read every single entry last Saturday.
It was funny the way he mention it to me and i couldn’t stop laughing about it the whole time he was telling me about the thing he read in here. lol

How he found out? He was googling Jentayu (yes budak ni tak malu. google band sendiri. lol) and he found me in the search list.

When i asked him how he feels about it, he told me he was dissapointed initially that he didn’t know about it but he thought it was so sweet when he read the “About Us” section. sappy betul tunang aku.

I did not delete any post and i don’t intend to privatise the blog. I want him to be part of the blog.

Ok, 6 mins to go until i apply for my solemnisation date online.
Yes, I’m doing this at midnight because i want Kadi Hassan Salim. I hope we get him!

And oh, HDB rescheduled 2nd appointment because they wanted to see a screenshot of my online ROM Application So we’ll only be getting the keys next monday. sigh.

Our Shoebox

My own set of keys!

Tadi pagi tangan gatal (lagi), gi check HDB page.

We can collect our keys in 2 weeks time!!! weeeeeeeeeeeee!!
It is exactly 4 months after our 1st appointment :))

However, i have got a workshop to handle on 18th May so i’ve just called HDB to reschedule within the week itself. Now waiting for them to call back and confirm.

Kitchen Projects, Musings of a Bride

Sarinah Hen Party

Nari semangat aku update blog. Macam tengah mood malas nak buat kerja after the long weekend and to be fair, i work my ass off last week. lol. excuses!

Last saturday was Sarinah’s Hen Party.

Guess what we did? A baking class!
Cos the bride is a noob when it comes to cooking or baking.
So ni kira crash course ah sebelum dia kahwin.

We engaged Kak Izah to hold the Baking Class for us and we managed to do our very own Cupcake Bouquet. It was a great fun, laughing about the stupid things we do and being oh so competitive with each other (cos we were split into 2 groups).

Everyone was decked out in Turquoise and we even had a simple veil for Sar.

All the ingredients were provided for so we only have to show up with our aprons.
It was a hands-on session and we got to do everything from scratch. From the measuring to the decorating process.

Kak izah was very helpful in entertaining our enquiries cos to be honest, out of the 6 of us, only me and Has bakes. The others don’t bake at all.

Coincidentally, the three of us have the same aprons, in different colours.
(Hidup Daiso!)

And the three of them, coincidentally were in Checkered Aprons.
So we automatically form our group of threes.

Our chocolate moist cupcake.

Vanilla Cupcakes

While waiting for the cakes to bake, we prepared Roti Kirai for lunch.
Here’s our “Burberry-style” Roti Kirai. lol

Our naked cupcake bouquet.

All of our naked cupcakes which looks like Mushrooms. lol

My pink frosting!

My cupcake bouquet!

Dengan muka berminyak, rambut serabai, setelah sehari berkerja keras.

Everyone’s cupcake bouquet. Such a pretty sight!

Group picture! That’s the bride in between.

15 years of friendship and still standing strong. I love these girls like sisters.

1 more Hen Party to go, and yes i’m talking about mine! lol
