Ain’t these cute?
Love the pastel colours here!
Stacked Tea-cups with pearls.
My favourite! The baby breath enhance the whole do.
Love the colour of the flowers. Complements the vintage feel of the teacups very well.
Come as you are. As i want you to be.
Oh hello!!It has been a while since i update anything.
Work has been dominating me for the past week cos of the Career expo we did over the weekends.
This is the 2nd Career Expo i did with the Co. and it’s still as tiring as ever.
My legs are still jiggly from the thought of it. All the running around, the standing macam patung paid off on the last day though!
I have not done anything much for the wedding, except for the Bunga Rampai case.
I am still undecided on the colours i wanna have for his Dulang Hantaran. Sekejap nak brown and cream. Then today, i thought, why not inject more colour and have turquoise in it instead. Brown and Turquiouse. . Hmmm.
I have more or less decided how i want my invites to be. Will share with you once i have things firmed up.
I can’t believe it’s gonna be April soon. Like seriously??
I thought i just heard people shouting “Happy New Year”, like recently?
I’m left with about 6months. Financially, we are trying to save every bit we can. No short holidays even. Trust me, im tempted to run off to Bali or Krabi right now.
April is gonna be a good month for me to do all my DIY Stuffs since i be working Mon – Wed only for the 1st 3 weeks of April. Lucky, i know. *beams*
I’m gonna drag the boy to Arab Street soon to buy ribbons and all the nitty-gritty just because i felt like shopping. I rarely shop for things i like nowadays. It’s always practical stuffs and things i need for the weddings. I didn’t know i can actually do it, you know. lol
and oh! me and my other girlfriends are now planning for a hen night for one of my gf who’s gonna get hitched in June. I’m not saying anything, just in case she manage to chance upon my blog. lol
But it’s gonna be something different from what we have done before and i bet she will have a good time.
I kind of have told my girlfriends what i want for my hen night! hahaha
That’s because they are all hopeless with planning. All the previous hen night were planned by me and it’s no surprise when they initially have no idea what to do for mine but i have told me roughly what i wanted and got them to work it out themselves. lol
Next week gonna be a tad busy too cos the boy and his mates will be having their own showcase on 9th April with Black Box. I’m excited cos i know just how passionate the boy is with his music.
They have always wanted their own showcase and now they have got one!
I don’t know if i have told u guys before but his Band plays at Weddings as well.
Both Live Band and Acoustic.
Let me know if you are interested. I’ll be sure to give you a discount!
You can check them out at their Official Website or at Facebook
We are still in the midst of editing and uploading the videos though, so if you are interested to see them play at their showcase,
you can email us at admin@jentayu.info.
Tickets are at $10.00 only.
Ok, what was supposed to be a short update turns out to be oh so lengthy! hahaha
Close friends know my love for good food and when i met the boy, it was like a matchmade in heaven cos the boy, part melantak, no 1.
Kalau browse through my Facebook, you will see lotsa pictures of food and whenever i FB Check-in / 4sq check-in, it’s always to food places.
I have put on more than 10kg since meeting the boy. Just the other day, we were watching a video of us two and we went “Ehhhhhh kurusnya kita”.
Tu dulu sayang. Sekarang dah boyak.
I’m left with less than 7 months to go and my weight is, still like that.
Tak turun2 pasal banyak sangat kawan yang kaki makan.
Thursday onwards je dah happy hour. Mesti ada je orang ajak supper.
Selalu lah jugak, try control, “Ok.. minum air je. jangan makan.” Tapi makaaaaaaaaan jugak!
I remembered previously, about 4 years back, my weight went up a bit and i went to the doctor to get a slimming prescription.
The doc prescribed me Panbesy and Xenical.
Lose weight, i did. I lost 8kg in 2 months and in no time, i could wear back all my clothes and my sister’s.
However, with that, came some sacrifices.
The prescription is an appetite-suppresant and it actually helps me with my metabolism. I didn’t feel like eating much whenever i ate the pills. Which was really good cos i only ate the pills for 2 months but the habit of only eating a few spoonful of rice, stick with me for a year.
i also had no appetite to eat junk food! I did not eat much chocolate and ice cream and i did not even have to force myself from staying away from junk foods.
However, i had difficulty sleeping cos i had heart palpitations. My heart keep beating super fast and i was left sleepless every night and had to rely on sleeping pills. Amazingly, i would be very active the next day, always on my toes and i don’t feel lethargic even though i eat lesser.
But the heart palpitations made me worried so i stop the prescriptions after 2 months.
Lastly, the doctor did mention to me, it will help me to lose weight tremendously of which after that i would have to maintain it by eating moderately and exercise regularly, which i did, for a year after going off the pills.
Because, if i slacked, the other side effect is, my weight will balloon up.
Membuak cam nak gila, even if i don’t eat much.
This is what is happening to me right now and i’m now trying hard to shed off these weight by eating more healthily and doing some exercise once or twice a week.
Just on wednesday, i roped in my bestie and her hubby to play badminton with us. We had so much fun and we sweat it out and felt so good when i rejected her ice cream offer. (which rarely happens cos i am a fan of ice scream! lol)
The boy’s bandmates are also trying to spur us on so we will be going for a morning jog at Toa Payoh Stadium every sunday morning at about 8.00am before they start jamming at 11.00am.
I keep telling myself, 7 months to go and i want to fit into my wedding dress nicely.
I hope i lose at least 5kg. Seriously.
I was browsing through some DIY Blogs to look for a simple box idea i can use to wrap small gifts for my Hen Night and i came across this tutorial which i absolutely must share with you girls cos, like what the blogger mentioned, it is definitely squeal-worthy!!
I’ll be coming up with a few series of Tips (which may or may not be beneficial to you).
The first one would definitely be choosing and ordering your invites since it’s something very related to me. lol
It has been 4 years designing invites for people and i have come across so many people, macam2 pe’el, ragam dan sewaktu dengan nya lah.
1. Size do matter
Part ni, bincang lah ngan mak bapak ok because i know the old ones would normally prefer folded cards as compared to a simple postcard.
After you dah determine nak folded or nak postcard, determine the size next, standard would be A6 Size and sometimes you do see the DL size or the 5×5 square cards etc.
I normally would recommend A6 Size Cards cos it’s small and handy, easy for your makcik-makciks to keep in their handbag especially if your wedding is an outdoor location etc.
Lastly, it is of course a cheaper option lah.
Bigger cards = more paper = more printing you see.
I know sometimes you do wanna make a difference but takmo lah mintak wedding card size macam business card. Trust me, i had someone who wanted to order that before. Tu kes pedengki, tak nak orang baca sey.
2. Pictures or no pictures?
Some of the common questions i hear from my clients are “Nak letak gambar ke tak eh?”
Honestly, if it was up to us, i know most of us would wanna do that but kekadang mak bapak, makcik pakcik, nenek atok tak kasi pasal they say:
For me, i will be putting up my pre-wedding pictures and my parents have no objection to it.
If you intend to do so, i hope u take note of some stuffs.
3. How many?
This is roughly how u calculate your cards. If you invite 1000pax worth of food with your caterer, the general guide is to order 500 cards.
But, i would actually recommend you to order at least 50 extra cards.
Reason being, to order 550 cards in bulk is still relatively cheaper than order 500 dulu pas tu tambah lagi 50 when u realise card tak cukup pasal your mum dah distribute the cards to kawan2 bawah block dia.
Trust me, this happens a lot! You also gotta give and take, in case salah tulis nama etc, at least ada extra cards to fall back on. Takkan nak pakai liquid paper kan.
When u dah de cards, remember to keep a few in your bag cos u are bound to tiba2 bump into an old friend etc yang u carik macam nak rak dulu. So at least ada gak lah card on hand.
However, bila u dah distribute extra cards tu, pepandai lah inform ya caterer k?
But, chances are at least 20% of the people you invited won’t be coming, so sendiri agak2 lah k.
4. Additional ka-chings
Always check with your Card designer if they be providing envelopes, if not, take note of the extra costs that you have to incur for these. Generally, white envelopes will cost between $0.05 – $0.10 depending on size. Coloured envelopes will cost between $0.10 – $0.15 depending on size.
Another thing that brides always forget to set aside $$ for are the stamps.
If you have 500 cards, takkan lah semua 500 cards tu nak hand-deliver kan?
At least 300 cards will have to go thru the mails, so be prepared to spend at least $100 gitu for the stamps?
These are just some tips i can share to all bride-to-be.
You do not need to spend big bucks on cards to make a good 1st impression of your wedding. You just need good taste 🙂
I love this song currently and am contemplating to use it for my 2nd March-in.
This would be my choice until another cute song comes along.
I have always wanted a cheerful song instead of the conventional songs like “From This Moment On”.
Although it’s really, really nice and meaningful, i don’t think it reflects both me and the boy cos we both love catchy songs.
Maybe we could have a sappy song for the cake-cutting, which we still have not decided on.
Talking about songs, i might be singing with the boy’s bandmates since we are gonna have a Live Band from his parents band and an Acoustic set from the boy’s band.
It probably be an acoustic set though cos i get stage-fright very easily hence the multiple rejections each time the band request me to sing during events. lol
But i figured since it’s MY wedding, and i know most of the people anyway, i should just sing, but probably after the cake-cuttin, pasal time tu tak lah ramai orang sangat. muahahaha
So far, the only song i can think of right now is Michael Buble’s Everything cos it just reflects what i think of the boy and that song, it makes me smile each time it’s on the radio.
7 more months to go, baby!
I think i own this entry to some of you who emailed me to ask how much cheaper it is to print our own photobook rather than get the normal photography packages.
In my line of work, i know that printing costs a bomb here in Singapore.Any kind of printing lah, photo printing, canvas printing, card printings.
Especially if you get a third party to do it for you. So if you are able to source out the best printing vendors yourself, do it yourself!
Generally, Photobooks will cost between $100.00 to $180.00 depending on the size and album type.
There are generally few types of Albums that are commonly used for Wedding Photobooks.
Debossed Photobooks:

Imagewrap Hardcover Books
Image from Google
Softcover Books
I personally prefer the Imagewrap Hardcover Books because i would have full control of what kind of design and colour i would want for my Book.
Generally, the photobooks would take between 7-10 working days to be ready.
If you are not familiar with Photoshop, fret not as most of them have their own Photobook software that you can download to your PC and create your own design by using the drag and drop function.
I found some online vendors whom i feel offers competitive prices for their photobooks.
Photobookmart Singapore
They are currently running a 50% off Promotion for all their Photobooks.
You can still utilise it afterward cos it will be under Prepaid Payment. So if your wedding is in October, just get the offer now and use it when u log in next time. Remember to key in the code “50Mar” when you checkout.
More info here.
Photobook Singapore
Photobook Singapore is also having a promotion currently.
Their 11″ x 8.5″ Medium Imagewrap Landscape album is going for only $42.00 if you get the prepaid voucher. It would be good as a gift as well!
Again, i suppose since it’s a prepaid voucher, you can probably utilise it later.
More info here.
You can see their Price List here and you will see a Buy One Get One Free button there. You just need to leave your email address and they will email you the Promo Code.
Buy One Get One Free is very cost-saving tau.
Their Large Landscape – 15″ x 11″ Album of 40 pages is $161.00 each.
So if you get two of those, it would be only $80.50 each.
I was thinking of getting this promo deal.
One album for the wedding and the other album for the outdoor shoots etc.
You can see their detailed price list here.
There are of course other vendors that you can also look at and compare the prices etc.
Ultimately, the choice is yours. If you want to save more $$, you can try DIY your own Photobooks. Afterall, you only need to do this after the wedding 🙂
Guess what i picked up during lunch?
I was all restless yesterday cos the lady from Daiso whom i was liasing with, said that there are no more stocks island-wide. I only asked for 33 packets actually.
I was about to give up yesterday, sedih macam nak apa.
Kept thinking of where i can get pink cookie bags in these sizes.
Today, just before lunch, the lady called me to say there were some stocks that came in. 35 packets to be precise. Happppppy sangat!! Terus mood nak buat kerja hilang, macam nak rush je gi Daiso. lol
So, i picked up these babies when i went to IMM for my lunch just.
Mad happy. I only spend $66 on these bags which total up to 396 bags.
These bags are only for my side-nya favors since the boy nya mum will be doing her own favors. Technically, i only need 300pcs of it but i wanted to do more just in case either side tak cukup berkat.
So, favor bags all settled!
See what i baked last Saturday!
The cookies that i’m gonna bake for my Favors!
This was just a trial-run as it has been quite sometime since i baked them and thank God, i can whip them out perfectly.
I gave them to my Family members and the boy’s bandmates to try. They love it!!
So yeah, baking of all these cookies will start in August and i will store them in the Biscuit Tins that i have at home.
The only thing pending for my Favor Bags would be the Plastic Bag inserts for me to pack my biscuits in before i pack them in the Favor bags, the stickers i’m gonna paste on the Plastic Inserts and the DIY Tags im gonna staple on the Favor Bags.
I can’t wait to finish this project!
Remember my post about the white dulang hantaran i’ve managed to secure? Now this is why i wanted a Dulang berkaki, but pasal aku cerewet tak nak silver/gold, kena lah cari merata singapore.
I was browsing a few Malaysian nya wedding blog (I heart them seriously!, budak2 tu semua pro-diy.), and i came across a lot of them trying to DIY bantal hantaran. I had always wanted Fresh Flowers for my Hantaran, cuma tak tau aku ada time ke tak nak gi Thomson beli Fresh Flowers and i was scared it would cost me a bomb.
The idea is to make your own bantal (stuff it with the kekabu and what-nots) and then decorate the hantaran using Fresh flowers and the Oasis sponge.
Ideally, the kain, jangan pakai satin pasal dia licin sangat and takut nanti susah pulak nak handle benda tu. So far, yang aku tengok, tak yah jahit, just glue everything together. Bagus jugak lah, pasal kalau nak harapkan aku jahit bantal, sampai kahwin pun benda tu tak siap.
For the fillings of the bantal pulak, maybe jangan cari yang original punya bulu, pasal tu mahal. Maybe kena cari those synthetic nya. Alah, asalkan at the end of the day, bantal tu gebu2 lah.
Semalam i tried to call Far East Flora (Thomson) to get their pricelist for the Fresh Flowers. The lady said ni harga semalam lah pasal harga bunga turun naik (macam stock pulak).
I love Rose, Carnations & Gerbera the most so i only got those flower nya pricelist but if you are interested in other flowers, can just call their Fresh-cut department at 6251 5151
So far, this is the price she gave me lah.
Roses:
China – 20 stalks at $13.00 | Malaysia – 20 stalks at $8.00
I know, u be thinking, “aik?? apasal Rose China lagi mahal? Selalu made in China lagi murah pe..”
The difference is actually Rose China lagi lawa. Dia nya tips is pointed, while Malaysia is rounded.
China punya pun kalau kembang, besar and lawa sangat… So kalau you all nya bf or husband kasi you all Rose, pi tanya dia beli yang China nya ke or Malaysia nya ok.
Carnations:
20 stalks at $7.50
I love carnations (especially pink ones cos of it’s pom-pom effects)
Gerberas:
10 Stalks at $3.50.
Gerberas always make me happy cos of the bright colours.
Baby breaths:
Big Bundle at $23.00 | Half bundle at $10.00
Yang ni, mesti beli. I feel that it adds a very nice touch to the flowers.
Oasis Sponge:
1 box of 20 pieces at $17.00
This is not the normal green sponge that you all cucuk bunga plastic tu. This sponge is specifically good for you to rendam dalam air and baru cucuk fresh flowers so that your flowers taklah mati siang sangat.
They said delivery is Free kalau kita order more than $30.00 but i suggest you go down to Thomson, pick the flowers you want and then order and get them to deliver nearer to your date lagi bagus then just calling in to place your order.
You can try looking for Betty, such a patient lady, she helped me answer most of my questions =)
I work very near IMM and i go to IMM everyday for lunch.
So, naturally, i will try to go Daiso once every two days. Yes, i love that place that much.
Today, i saw something that nearly made me leap with joy.
Pink Polka-dot Gift Bags!!
However, lepas dah bukak plastic tu and tenung lama2, i think i prefer Size S better.
Cute sangat and it is just nice for the Favor that i’m gonna give.
I like it cos it’s simple and sweet and because it has prints on it, i don’t need to much with the decoration of the bag.

This is how it looks like bila ada isi. It also comes with this transparent sticker to seal it.
But kalau nak biarkan kosong macam ni, boring pulak.
Kalau nak letak ribbon, takut sarat sangat, because the bag comes with prints and on the bag ada gambar ribbon.
So, while i was googling on ideas just now, i figured why not buat macam ni?
But instead of covering the whole bag edge with the label, i figure, it would be nicer to do it like this instead. So that the sides is till visible. I plan to do up the labels in Black and Pink so that it can blend well with the gift bag.

I have just called Daiso IMM to check if they can get me stocks for the bag. It’s only $2.00 and there are 12 bags in it. So it’s only about $0.16 per bag. Cheap kan?
I need to get hold of about 33 packets of this. I’m trying hard to make sure all the bags are of the same colour. But if they don’t have stocks for the same colour, i guess i have to mix and match the colours. *cross fingers*
