Our Shoebox

The Home.

You know how i’m always lamenting about how i have been wnating to turn the house into a home?

Now i think the ‘home’ is really taking into shape and i’m happy with how it’s turning out. 🙂

The living room area looks more cosy now that we bought the carpet from IKEA and oh, the candles and the flowers.

Our make-shift dinner table.

For a couple who have not stayed in the house permanently, we sure have a lot of food stock. lol

Jentayu, Musings of a Bride

sunday.

Warning: This entry contains food images. 🙂

Last sunday was spent at JB with the Jentayu team.
The married ones wanna go drive over to Simpang Renggam and so we did.

Me and the boy, kes tak tahan panas only survived 15mins there before we retreat back to the car for air-con. Tak beli banyak kuih pun.

After Simpang Renggam, we head over to Giant at dunno where and i stocked up some stuffs for home. Like errr.. canned food. U can never get enough of canned food. haha.

After all that, we finally went over to Angsana as some of them belom beli baju kurung and i was looking for Quran and Sejadah for the dulang trays. We managed to get the Quran and sejadah we wanted so one down and few more to go. lol
We also managed to get a cheap tikar which looks like songket at only RM$19.90.
Didn’t get to get more stuff cos Angsana was really packed on weekends, dapat parking dah cukup bagus.

We head off to Jusco Aeon Bukit Indah to break fast since there’s more variety of food and since it’s further away from the Checkpoint, there’s not much of a crowd there. I love that place!

We had Nandos for Iftar (suka! i wish the Nandos in SG is halal, but there’s always Barcelos.)

and kalau masuk JB and tak makan A&W, rugi yo!
But since we were kinda full from Nando’s we only took the Waffles and Root Beer Float. Coney Dog, you gotta wait for some other time, ok?

We did a little shopping and i managed to get these really sweet hairbands at RM19.90 each at 30% off. Lawa sangat. Sayang tak sempat amik gambar.

Orang2 pandai je camwhore at the end of the day only, bila muka dah berminyak, dah penat. haha. We went in at 10.00am and only got in to Singapore close to midnight. Imagine how tiring it was? While i really love the food there, i don’t think i’ll be those kind of couple yang mesti masok JB every weekend. Penat ley.

DIY Project, Musings of a Bride

The Signage Posters

I did my signage posters already! (feeling rajin).

Initially, I wanted to put our pictures. Jadi orang yang datang boleh tau, muka aku without makeup tebal macam mana. haha

Tapi macam over pulak kalau aku letak gambar kita kat luar LRT station. Step mcm aku buat concert pulak.

Simple and very clear. Kalau sesat gak, tak tau aku nak cakap apa.

I’m gonna print it on A3 Size Art Card and laminate it. Initially thought of printing it on the Kapaline Foam Board. But i wouldn’t be able to laminate it.

Macam2 hal.

Musings of a Bride, The Card Maison

The Wedding Cards!

As promised, here’s the design of our wedding cards. I went thru so much before i finally decide that this will be the one. Susah tau.

I have always been my own critic of my own work and even after this was printed, i was still not 100% satisfied with it, mainly the colour because i accidentally saturate it while using my sister’s laptop cos my laptop was down and the saturation of the colours on the cards were not as i expected. It turns out a bit darker. But i love them nonetheless. All the little things and the small details i put on the card, i really love it.

My design:
It has to be pink, of course and i incorporated white in the design and some small details like pearls, heart shapes and ribbons.

Front Design:

The simple front design. I decided not to clutter it with fanciful design or put in truckloads of pictures so i settled for this.

The big picture is his favourite. Paling penting, dalam gambar tu kita tak peluk2 or pegang tangan. Hahaha. I tak nak makcik2 mengumpat time Raya, yo!

The black & white picture was actually one of my favourite. It is simple yet it said what it wanted to say. One.Love. Touching kan?

The white pearls and the pink + sign – mentel! haha

Back Design:

Apologies, i had to pixelate some of the personal details for privacy purposes.
Again, it’s pink but this time round, i used more classic details like the Damask Background, the Scalloped Frames and the Chandelier but i added some cute details cos i cannot help it lah. See that two little heart shapes and the stitched ribbons at the top and bottom? Awesome. hur hur.

Direction Side:

This portion will be pasted on my petal-fold envelopes (will tell u guys more about this later.) Yang ni, i went a lil overboard with the cute details. haha Ada pearls, lace border, ada stripes, ada ribbon, ada hearts and ada Owl lagik!! Semua lah aku letak. Puas hati aku. lol

For the boy, i gave him the same design for the Front Side because he likes it too and for the back part of it and the direction side, everything is the same minus the pearls and the ribbons because it would be too girlish, especially the ribbons.

Envelopes:
Have i told you guys i’ll be DIY-ing my petal-fold envelopes?
If you guys don’t know what Petal-Fold envelopes look like, it looks like these:

When it is opened. So that’s where i’m gonna paste my Direction side at.

When closed, it kinda look like a flower and that’s where i’m gonna tampal my stickers at.

Nampak senang nak DIY tapi, after doing about 30-40pcs, boleh rasa lengit dia cam mana. LOL

But it’s ok! It’s only 300pcs cos my jemputan is only 600pax and i saved a lot by DIY-ing my own envelopes!
These envelopes are so costly even if i were to buy it online. Be prepared to pay at least $0.60 each for the envelopes (ni blom campur shipping!).

Rasa2 kalau jari aku macam nak patah, then balance2 tu aku kasi pakai the square envelopes at Popular je lah. Itu last resort ah.

Up till now, belom habis DIY cos i keep procastinating. My guestlist is ready. Cuma nak tulis nama je. I hope i can get everything done before Raya. Kalau tak, pagi raya tu jugak aku main potong2 kertas. 😦

DIY Project, Musings of a Bride

Final Sticker Design

I finally, finally got the laptop virus-free again. Banyak2 time, dia nak down, it has to be this period. Time aku nak siapkan kad kahwin sendiri, time banyak pending designs to do. Time tu jugak lah dia nak sakit.

I finally had time to design my stickers for the Invites envelopes. I wanted something simple, yet nice with minimal colours, which can match the black envelopes i’m gonna use.

There you go!

It may not be as nice and elaborate as the pre-designed stickers i featured here but at least it was something i could be proud of and tell my grandchildren about in future. eh melebih pulak.

I’ll be printing these stickers out soon-ish once i am done with all the other stuff i am supposed to do.

Will show you guys the design for my wedding card next!

Selamat berbuka y’all!

Musings of a Bride

Oh oh..

I finally realise how close my wedding really is.

The ticker says it’s in 66 days but that still sound kinda far actually until i did some mental calculation.

It’s 2nd week of Ramadhan now (oh, lagu raya dah kluar kat radio u know!) and before we know it, it’s gonna be Raya in September (and also Wings nya Concert, which i’m going. Yay!) and after all the ketupat and rendang, 2 weeks of Raya is gonna pass by (where i will get asked “kau nya persiapan majlis dah siap yan?” many many times, for sure) and before you know it, it’s October, already!

I need to stock up my innershine soonish and finish up all my DIY stuffs and start baking those cookies very very soon and i have not done the prototype for the dulang hantaran and so many other stuffs, i actually freaked out a lil yesterday night.

😦

Musings of a Bride

The one who knows me best.

I was trying to clear some of work mails today cos oh well, my inbox is out of space (what’s new). I have a hoarding problem when it comes to emails. I just refuse to just thrash them away. lol

While doing some housekeeping, i saw something dated months ago in December 2010.

click & magnify to read.

At that time, i was on a “dah jelak-nak-makan-ayam” mood. He remembered.

He even remembered i will order Barley when i am at Burger King and Iced Milo when i am at Mc’Donalds.

He remembered i love The Gotan Project even though i only mentioned it so briefly to him years ago and that iPhone thing was so funny. He finds it so irritating that i am so attached to my iPhone. Boleh jadi gaduh ok.

This is the guy who knows me the best and the one i’m gonna share my life with in 71 days. lol  #gedik

p/s: yes, he loves to watch cooking shows and he cooks better than me. Lucky me.
Lol

Rizalman Bridal Collection

His latest collection made me go WOW as always. For those who don’t know who Rizalman is, he’s one of Malaysia’s top and finest designer and i have always always admired his collections. The way the clothes fall og so nicely, his good choice of materials and his colours, most of the time are subtle but so stunning!

Here are his latest bridal collections:

It’s simple but oh-so-chic!

So va-va-voom. The neckline reminded me of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress though. This would look so nice for a photoshoot at Tanjong Pagar on a Sunday. lol

Some other pictures from his runway show i took off from one of the blogger walktheberry.

Starting je dah style. sigh.

Swoons and wish for money to drop from the sky so i can buy the entire collection.
