Jentayu, Musings of a Bride

His song. His voice.

I mentioned about how he surprised me with a song he composed, on our wedding day. It really came as a surprise to me cos he did not tell me about it at all.

He did play the tunes before this, and i told him i love the tunes but i never though he would actually put the words together (with some helps from Jentayu, of cos!)

The lyrics were simple but oh so meaningful and sweet. Bila dengar and tengok lagik, macam nak nangis lagik. lol

and oh, i cried so much on my wedding, macam budak baru masuk Primary 1 sey.

Henna Night

** This is a scheduled post.

I’m drafting this at 5.30am with my phone cos i’m finally done with my henna and i can’t sleep. Oh my, who knew getting ya henna done could be so tiring!

I proceed with the henna service given by Lyanaz Bridal, not knowing it’ll be from Wanie from Pesona Belle. Phew. Love her works!

My girlfriends came and we had a mini hen party.

She started at 7.30pm and finally went back at about 11.30pm. I had to keep my henna on for at least 5-6hrs with no contact of water. I was supposed to wake up at 3am but ter-overshot sampai 4am.

I’m loving my current henna stain and i wish it would stay this colour but we all know it’ll get darker by 2mr. 😦

with 5 more days to go

With five more days to the wedding, i’ll try to blog everyday till the wedding.
The things i do each day. Try k. Try. lol

Here are some random stuff i did over the last 2 weekends.

Some sneak peeks from my Hen Party. I have yet to find time to draft a proper blog for the Hen Party and i’m waiting for some videos from them too.

Basically, they surprised me at the new house, with the boy’s approval and participation too! lol

They brought in two manicurist to a do manicure and pedicure for us at the comfort of my own place. It was a simple setting but loads of fun.

I also managed to hop over to Far East Flora to order my fresh flowers. I love that place! I wish i can work there! lol It was so so cooling and surrounded by loads of flowers. It was pretty cheap too. Indian Roses were going for $8.50 for 20 stalks and 20 stalks of Carnations were going at $11.50. I ordered quite a few and spent only $100++ in total! I hope i bought enough for my dulang hantaran and my sireh dara.

The bedroom set came the last 2 weekend! The mattress came last weekend, tapi malas nak amik gambar. I have also printed pictures of our pre-wedding to hang on top of the headboard. Still thinking if i should let the dressing table stay there?

Oh.. can you see that pink pompom flower thing on the side table? That’s my DIY Bunga Pahar and im loving it so far! i have yet to add in the white pompom ones! Can’t wait!

We did more shopping! or should i say, I did more shopping for the Hantaran tray. Me loves Sephora. Finally got my perfume and our toiletries stuff. Came home with 2 bags full and a happy me. Dah lama tak dapat shopping, ok!

If you follow me on Facebook, you’ll know that i was running all over the place last monday, searching for our shoes and bunga manggar and what-nots.

I wanted to get my wedding shoes from Mondo but tak tau kenapa, macam teragak2 gitu. So i head over to City Plaza. Most of the shoes were going at $79 – $100 and then i saw something i really like, cos it was full of blings, i flipped over, and i saw Size 36 (display), Size 38 (last pair) $29.90.

The one on display was size 36, and i’m a size 38! Tanya auntie tu, she said masih ada. I tried, it fits me like a glove and i sealed the deal immediately. The usual price was $109 and it was going at $29.90 cos they wanted to clear that very last pair. Oh, tersangat lah lucky.

Sneak peek from the last fitting i did.
More blings. I would make P Diddy cry with shame with all my blings.

Super random, but i had a durian feast with Nori, Azmi, Hosni & Nini last Friday. Super sinful but sangat syiokkkk. I only remembered my so-called diet after the durian feast. Oh wells.

Printed our poster to display in front of the pelamin. Major happy.
My colleague’s husband thought it was a real movie. lol
Had such a hard time choosing a picture which can fit into the theme and is not too lovey-dovey. Takut orang termuntah, depan pelamin pulak. lol

Last major shopping last saturday at Mustafa. Bought our Rice-cooker, iron, kettle and lotsa other food stuff for his hamper etc. Wrong timing to go Mustafa. Punyalah ramai umat2 dia, maklumlah, Raya dorang bulan ni.

My wedding preps- 80% done.

i was just telling one of my girlfriend, the problem with doing your wedding at your new house is, you’ll end up buying more things. Like, nak buat benda A tak boleh, pasal takde benda B. So you’ll end up buying A & B. After buying A & B, you realise you might as well buy benda C. It’s a vicious cycle, i tell you.

Ok, it’s 5 more days to the wedding. Nervous? yes i am. I’m not kidding you. I can feel the wedding jitters. But i’m just gonna have fun with the boy on that day. Everything else takes second place.

One year on..

20111005-203456.jpg

It has been a year since he squatted in front of me and asked me to be his wife.

I still remember how he surprised me with the whole thing. Once, his mom told me to wear her ring to see if it fits and i did not suspect anything at all till the day he was supposed to come over my place, i was surprised they were holding trays of gifts and cos of all his nervousness, he squatted instead of kneeling in front of me. I was shocked but really happy.

It has been a year b.
Happy anniversary!

Musings of a Bride

10 more days only?

Tomorrow, my ticker will be single digit.
Till last sunday, i kept telling people, “oh my wedding is in 2 weeks time”.

Yesterday, someone told me “eh.. your wedding is next weekend!”
That instantly freaks me out.

I went for my final fitting yesterday. Changed my Baju songket to a newer one and i am so so glad they could accomodate to my request. Sayang dorang!

I would love to tell you guys what happen the whole of yesterday and the weekends. Maybe tomorrow, once i upload some of the pictures because a blogpost is boring without pictures. heh.

Musings of a Bride

with 16 days to go..

I would like to declare that i am officially a pengantin paling procastinating. lol

I have yet to pass around my wedding cards to some of my colleagues let alone mail out some of the cards to my ex-colleagues etc.

Tu baru part card k kengkawan.

Bunga pahar yg DIY lom siap. Die-die, by next week nak kena siapkan jugak. My hantaran belom beli. Next week pun die-die kena beli jugak. Poster belom design and belom print. Tu pun die-die next week kena buat. The stickers for the favours pun belom buat. Tu pun die-die next week kena buat. Macam banyak betul benda aku kena buat next week.

But, i finally ordered the cupcakes untuk display depan pelamin selama 8 jam dan juga a Cake and cupcake set for the boy nya hantaran today. So that’s quite an achievement lah jugak.

Yesterday i did a mock up draft of the pelamin and seating arrangement for Uncle Jais. Hopefully he can accede to my request.

I can’t believe, i’m like almost 2 weeks away from my wedding. Cepatnya.
I have yet to edit some of the Hen Party pictures. Will do so soon. Hopefully before the wedding ah. haha

My friends are getting really excited, counting down with me.

Me? I’m excited but scared at the same time. Right now, i’m just taking things as it is.

Insyaallah semua ok.

Ok dah. Nak pergi design poster sekarang jugak!

Musings of a Bride

Hello Tok Kadi Part II

Yesterday, me, the boy, my dad and my niece finally went to ROMM for the interview.

Do you know i actually forgot the whole interview process thing? Till i conveniently check my ROMM registration at my email and i realise we have to report ourselves 5 weeks before the wedding. I went 25 days before our wedding. Sikit lebih kurang halal ah tu.

The whole process is quite fast actually. I took a queue no. Waited for the counter lady to call us, verify our NRIC and print out the registration forms, then wait again for the kadi to call us in.

Waiting time was approximately 15 mins when i went over at 3.00pm.
The interview with the Kadi took about 5 mins.

My dad went in first, then it was my turn. The boy was the last to go in. The kadi who interviewed me was Kadi Nor Razak.

My dad tried to scare me by saying “Tok Kadi suara garau. Baik2 jawab. Macam garang je..” the moment he came out from the Kadi’s office.

I was scared stiff when i knocked the door. Alas, Kadi cuma tanya yang perlu aje. He asked if i was married before and if i’m a legitimate child and after asking all the necessary questions, he told me to take an oath. Dah, tu je.

When i got out of the room, i tried to scare the boy pulak.
Iyalah… mana aci aku sorang je kena takut2 kan.

I told him ” B.. tok kadi suara garang sey. muka pun garang jugak. U masok je, u make sure u cakap Assalamualaikum eh!”

Tapi member cool je. plan aku fail.

Dia keluar pun cool. Dia cakap part angkat sumpah, macam nak ketawa pasal macam amik pledge. he is so easily amused.

I have 24 days to go and i was just whining at Facebook on the things i have yet to do and find.

But i’m really really tired emotionally and physically.
Last weekend was a blast cos finally, after years of coaxing from the guys, i’ve decided to finally sing with the boys on stage.

We had a Hari Raya show at Rivervale on Sunday which was quite fun and according to the boy, i was quite mentel on stage. hahaha

We also performed at a wedding reception at Burkill Hall, Botanic Gardens on Sunday. Nice place tapi ya ampun punya lah leceh nak angkut barang2 naik. It’s a 2-storey bungalow with no lift. Go figure how we lift up our sound system and the big-ass speakers upstairs.

ok, that aside, my Hen Party is on this Friday!
I’m excited cos i know i will have fun with the girls. I really don’t know what we’ll be doing and at this point, i really don’t care. I just wanna meet them, talk & laugh and forget about the wedding preps for awhile.
