Trying To Conceive

of charting & temping

Another thing i have been doing lately is taking my Basal Body Temperature (BBT) and charting it on Fertility Friend.

Now this requires dedication because the rules of charting your BBT are:

  • it has to be done every single day at the same timing. so if you recorded your 1st temp at 6.30am, the subsequent one has to be at the same timing. Senang cakap, hari2 kena bangun at 6.30am to temp, even on weekends.
  • Prior to temping, when u wake up, u are not supposed to move too much or talk or breathe. So it would be good if you place your Basal Thermometer just next to your bed so that when the alarm goes off, you can pick it up with minimal movement. Because movements etc affects your temperature and it may not be accurate.
  • You can only use Basal Thermometer for this. Normal digital Thermometer is not acceptable. The only difference is the decimal point aje. Basal Thermometer has 2 decimal point so it is more accurate.
  • You must have at least 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

Trying To Conceive

going traditional

you remember i mentioned going back to the TCM doctor this month to resume my medications with her?

i went last monday to see Dr Su again and i actually love seeing Dr Su. She’s from China so her english is a bit off but i don’t care as long as i understand what she’s taking about and unlike my gynae, she takes her time explaining fertility problems to me and all. I find her very comforting actually.

I told her my menses is still a no-show (today, it is still a no-show and it is CD54 already! Just in case you don’t know, CD stands for Cycle Day and usually, women gets their menses between CD28 – CD32 gitu? So, i’m really really off this month. Like hello Aunt Flo, are u sleeping?

Dr Su will usually listen to my pulse and i don’t know why but i love it when she does that! haha.

Trying To Conceive

u are what you eat

Continuing from the previous post, i have never thought what i eat and don’t eat, what i do and don’t do could affect my womb.

I have been seeing a Traditional Chinese Doctor (Sinseh) ever since my colleague got pregnant from eating her meds. Her meds was able to make me ovulate earlier but, because i tak biasa makan ni herba2 entah apa tah.. i had a hard time drinking it. Macam nak muntah ok! Cos rasa dia pahit gila lah.

The sinseh checked my pulse and mentioned that i have a cold womb which is not conducive for conceiving. Which is kinda true cos between me and my husband, i get cold really easily. But then again, laki aku jenis polar bear. Duduk bawah aircon pun dia tak rasa apa. So the sinseh told me what to refrain from eating/drinking:
