Day 2 of Krabi was spent Island Hopping!
Read about Day 1 here.
Before i go on, just a tip if you are visiting Krabi.
Go get a Prepaid SIM card from the 7-11. It is so so worth it. I can’t remember how much i got it for but it was less than S$10.00 and it lasted me for 5 days and 3G is charged daily at a small fee and is unlimited.
I find having 3G is really useful cos the other time, i wanted to find out the Spa contact no, it was just easier to google for it and call them straight from your Thai no. This is what i usually do when i travel.
So anyway, on Day 1, we actually managed to book a Private longtail Boat for island hopping. Based on our past experience island hopping during our trip in Phuket, we hated the Speedboats that the Tour Agencies offer because they are always cramped with so many people and when they stop at a certain place, it will be at a crowded place and they will give you a strict timing to follow. eg only 1 hour at this island and honestly, 1hour is not enough and i hate going to places yang banyak sangat tourist. So i told my husband we will splurge a bit and just take a private long-tail boat for the 2 of us.
That was the best decision we made in Krabi.
We paid only 2,000 baht (S$80.00) for that private Longtail Boat and i felt it was so worth it! Cos in Krabi, i bump into my ex-schoolmate and she mentioned she’s joining a tour agency on a speedboat and they paid 1500 baht (S$60.00) per person. That was what i paid in Phuket as well.
yes, a speedboat is faster than the longtail boat but.. we are on a holiday and we can take our sweet time if we want! So a private long tail boat it is!

We waited at the hotel lobby for someone to pick us up to the Ao Nang Pier to our Longtail Boat.

It looks like an extended sampan but with an motored engine on it and yes, you don’t have to do anything. Just sit cos the boatman and the engine will bring you to your destination. NI bukan macam gi canoeing eh kawan2. When i told my hubby we were gonna take this, he thought he had to kayuh the damn thing. Step mana peh kuat.
Lunch was provided in a lunch box and it was so delicious! Padahal setakat those Chicken masak apa tah with Telor goreng aje. tapi bila dah frolicking satu hari under the sun, kasi Nasi ngan kicap pun dah kira sedap!
These were all over the place and i love these majectic limestone cliffs. Like they have their own stories behind all these.
Oh and the clear turquoise water.

pretty obvious where it got it’s name from.

We didn’t spend much time at Chicken Island cos there were too many people and there were lots of little stones and corals at the sea bed so we walked till the end to Tup Island where this greeted us.
- Tup Island which was just next to Chicken Island.
Apart from some tua and boncit mat salleh, there were really no one else at this part of the island.
We spent about 90mins here before we set off to another island.
- The beautiful Phoda Island
We were on the way to Phoda Island when we saw this stretch of beach and told the boatman to stop here instead.
The best beach area everrrr. There were no one else except for this guy selling overpriced ice cream and our boatman.
No one goes to this area cos the speedboats were at the other end of the island so we had the entire place to ourselves.
Clear shallow waters. ohmaigod
We spent nearly 2 hours here and i think i got my sunburn here. lol
We then went off to Phra Nang Cave where we found a Floating stall. They cook and sell their stuff from the Longtail Boat itself. Why so innovative one..
Now this is interesting. At Phranang cave, we saw this errr Fertility Shrine with errr a lot of cock statues. hahahahhaha
I’m sorry but i found it to be quite in your face lah!

the boy who kept sitting under the shade. but he still got so dark from all the swimming.

I swear getting sunburned is not funny. It hurts and my body kept feeling warm all over. Yes i used sunblock but apparently i need higher than SPF30. SO i went out and bough SPF100 for Sports. sigh.
I am still peeling from the sunburn now.
We got back to the hotel by 3.00pm. We took a quick nap and went out again to search for dinner.
This time round, we went to Chaba Thai Kitchen at Ao Nang, also a muslim owned restaurant.

It was dirt cheap too. We spent less than $20.00 for all this. Oh, i love Krabi!

A bubble bath and a chick-lit book.
